I’ve only been to the MoMA once in my life, but that one trip had a notable impact on my developing understanding of art. One of the most famous aspects of the MoMA experience is Ivan Chermayeff’s lettermark. A token of the international typographic style, it’s big, bold and austere. But let's not beat around the bush: it's a little bit boring. So I asked myself: how might I maintain the original MoMA logo's spirit, but make it more…exciting?
